On Saturday, December 16 Hanukkah Fest, the Jewish festival of light, will open at 5 PM at the Havurah Synagogue beginning with a traditional potato pancakes (latkes) meal with all the trimmings. There will be Hanukkah gifts to purchase, as well as gift certificates donated by local restaurants and wineries. Children will be entertained with the dreydel game, making menorahs and rolling their own beeswax candles, followed by community candle lighting (bring your menorahs). The evening will culminate with storytelling by Debra Zaslow and a Hanukkah sing-a-long for all ages with Rabbi David & Cyrise Beatty Schachter and friends. The event is open and free to all.
